The Process
Step one… Contact Josh. Someone will get back to you on the same day. If the matter is an emergency, call or text him at (508) 717-1714.
Step two…Josh will listen to your concerns via telephone or Zoom/FaceTime consultation. More often than not, he will want to do further due diligence in an expedited manner to determine if your family’s needs/wants can be effectively addressed by his area of expertise. This initial approach is needed to see if a true collaboration can happen with your family. Even when you are hiring an educational consultant that has come very highly recommended, you are taking a leap of faith. Josh wants to be as upfront with a family as he can be so there is complete transparency throughout the process.
Step three…Josh will candidly tell you whether or not he can help your child. He is not ashamed to admit when he suspects a family needs a different approach and is more than happy to refer families to other trusted professionals he holds in the highest regard.
If Josh does feel that he can help your family he will explain what direction he believes would be the most appropriate. This can include meeting with the child, reading any possible assessment testing done and speak with teachers and/or clinical and medical providers when appropriate.
Step four…at this point the family needs to decide if they wish to officially engage in Josh’s services. Once they do Josh will lay out a mutually agreeable timeline and get to work right away.
Step five…try and take comfort there is a plan in motion to help your child.
