A simple online search for “specialized school” yields over 3 billion results. Billion. There is a lot of information about what a specialized school is, who a specialized school serves, where to find a specialized school. 

Simply put, sometimes an adolescent needs more than what is available at public school. It could be the student is transitioning back to a more traditional education setting after being in a therapeutic program. Or the student struggles with attention issues and needs a different educational structure. Students with learning disabilities or autism spectrum disorders may need more human understanding in their education.
